The Steading is an ideal base from which to explore the Central Belt of Scotland with Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and the scenic countryside of Perthshire, including the Auchterarder area where the famous Gleneagles Hotel is situated. There is also a new visitor centre at the Tullibardine malt whisky distillery.

Heading through Fife and driving slightly further north beyond Perth on the A9 the Pitlochry area is easily accessible. This is the start of the Scottish Highlands, and allows a visit to the famous Queen's View then returning here via Aberfeldy.

To the west of Edinburgh is Loch Lomond and the Trossachs which are easily reached across the M8 and a circular trip can be made through Drymen and back to the M8.

You may want to visit the home of golf, St Andrews, only 1hr 30mins away - driving along a route which takes in Fife's fishing villages.

We are only 10 mins. drive from the boundary of the Scottish Borders with its Abbeys and Woollen Mills (the four Borders Abbeys being Melrose, Dryburgh, Jedburgh and Kelso) with also Floors Castle in Kelso.

The East Lothian coastal town of North Berwick has a small harbour and is near the Sea Bird Centre with a live connection to the Bass Rock. Between here and North Berwick is Glenkinchie Distillery at Pencaitland and also the Concorde Visitor Centre is close by at East Fortune.
