We are
situated virtually next door to the famous Rosslyn
Chapel, as mentioned in the best selling novel "The Da
Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, and which appeared as a
location in the 2006 film of the same name. The chapel
was built in the 15th century, work starting around
1446, by William Sinclair. The chapel has Masonic and
Knights Templar links.
At 'The Steading',
you have the opportunity to experience either all that the
historic City of Edinburgh has to offer or take advantage of our
rural location to go for walks, visit Rosslyn Chapel or simply
have a relaxing holiday in an idyllic setting.
There is ample,
free, secure parking in our own grounds and a good bus service
offering easy access to Edinburgh City Centre.
Edinburgh
has much to offer people of all ages, ranging from
famous historical sites, museums and art galleries
through to designer shops, wine bars, restaurants and
major concert venues. There are numerous walks to suit
all abilities and, if golf is your thing, there are
numerous excellent courses in the area.
We are located
close to the Easter Bush Veterinary Centre, the Large Animal
Hospital and the Small Animal Hospital, Pentlands Science Park,
Edinburgh Technopole and the Edinburgh Innovation Centre. The
Roslin Institute is
located here within the village of Roslin itself.
Edinburgh Airport
and the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston are only 25
minutes drive away.
The Steading
is also well placed to allow easy access to many
attractions slightly further afield, like the
magnificent Queen's View in Perthshire, the Scottish
Borders, East Lothian, Stirling and Central Scotland and
the southern Highlands area.
After a busy day
sightseeing you are then able to retreat to the peacefulness of
the countryside where there are eating places within easy reach.
